Getting ready for Stampin' Up! OnStage

I'm off to Calgary to attend the OnStage event on Saturday.  I love attending the Stampin' Up! events!  I get to catch up with friends that I don't see very often, meet new demonstrators and mostly get inspired by the amazing creations and projects that I see.

With the event being in Calgary, it provides a perfect opportunity to visit with my family that lives in Alberta. My sister will pick me up at the airport on Thursday and we'll go to Red Deer, AB to visit my other sister. Then both are coming back to Calgary with me and well stay at the conference hotel on Friday night.  While I'm attending OnStage on Saturday, they'll go shopping - something we all do pretty well (must be in the genes).

I'm participating in 2 organized swaps at OnStage and I wanted to share my cards.

This is a 3x3 gift card made using In This World.  I seem to be in a water colouring mood these days and this was so easy.  I used water colour paper and wetted it down with my aqua painter and then used Flirty Flamingo ink (picked up from the lid of my ink pad) and applied to the paper. Once it was dry I applied Gold Wink of Stella using the brush to the small splotch stamp from Gorgeous Grunge and stamped over the pink.  I stamped directly on top with the Archival Black Ink using the butterfly stamp and stamped a second image on water colour paper.  For the second image, I coloured it using my aqua painter and Peekaboo Peach ink.  You can go over it a few times to get a deeper colour.  I applied Clear Wink of Stella over top of the ink once it was dry (it's hard to see the shimmer in the picture) I added a little bit of Metallic Gold Thread under the popped up image.

My second card uses the Moroccan Nights stamp set.  For this card I stamped the lanterns on Vellum Cardstock using Dapper Denim and Emerald Envy and then embossed them using Clear Embossing Powder.  The inside of the lantern is coloured using Gold Wink of Stella.  The banner has 3 layers - Vellum with images, Emerald Envy and Early Espresso.  A little bit of Dapper Denim ruched ribbon and Emerald Envy Taffeta ribbon finished it off. This is popped up on the Designer Series Paper from the Moroccan Nights suite and then adhered to a Dapper Denim Cardstock base.  The sentiment is stamped and punched out using the Duet Banner punch and then adhered to the other punched piece in Emerald Envy.
