Missing in Action

Thursday 21 February 2013

I realize that it has been a while since I've posted.  As I mentioned in an earlier post I will be in Singapore to do some work until the end of April.  I wasn't able to bring any of my stamping supplies along, but I do plan to spend time making some digital albums while here (thanks goodness for My Digital Studio!).
If you are interested in following some of my adventures I have created another blog. http://adventuresandotherramblings.blogspot.ca/
I arrived on Wednesday and am looking forward to doing some exploring on the weekend.  That will mean some pictures to start my album with.
Stay tuned!

More samples of Valentine Treat Holders

Monday 11 February 2013

It's getting closer to Valentine's Day and I've finished the few cards and chocolate treat holders that I give.  Yesterday I had lots of fun being creative with a friend of mine.  We played yesterday afternoon - made some cards and other creations and more importantly had lots of time to chat and visit.  I even brought my dog along to play with her 2 dogs and they got along famously!

Here's a few pictures of the treat holders.  I made these using the petal cone die by cutting 2 pieces and attaching them with double sided tape and then embellished.  I love how these turned out.  I had posted a picture of the one I had made last week using First Edition Designer Series Paper.  These ones use the More Amore Speciality DSP.  There are so many great embellishments in the Stampin' Up! Spring Catalogue and I've used a number of them on these samples.

I can't wait to give these away!  Happy Valentine's Day everyone.
Happy Stamping.

Valentine Share

Thursday 7 February 2013

It's getting close to Valentine's Day and I've created a couple of cards and a gift for my Valentine. I haven't decided which of these I will give to him!
Both of these cards use the faux chalkboard technique - I think I mentioned before how much I love this technique.  For both I used framelits (oval and heart) to cut the shape of the card.

For this card I used the Oval Framelit to cut the shapes.  For the base, I used the largest size but when cutting it I didn't put the paper to top of the framelit so I was left with a little piece not cut - that makes the front and back.
Supplies:
  • Hearts a Flutter Stamp set
  • That's the Ticket Stamp set
  • Tiny Tags Stamp set
  • Whisper White Kraft Ink
  • White embossing powder
  • Real Red Stamp Pad
  • Clear embossing powder
  • Flower trim
  • Cute Clip
  • Jewellry Tag Punch
  • Ticket Duo Builder Punch
  • Vintage Trinkets
  • White Gel Pen

This version uses the Hearts Framelits.

Finally a gift full of candy kisses to go along with the card. I used the petal cone die (2 pieces put together) to cut 2 pieces using First Edition Designer Series Paper.  A few embellishments - red glimmer paper, flower trim, ribbon and a pearl. Such an easy gift!  I sure hope everyone who gets one will enjoy!

It's raining outside, but it was warm inside

Sunday 3 February 2013

After about 6 months of trying to plan a stamping afternoon with friends, it finally happened today!  We've been talking about this for such a long time and for one reason or another it just didn't seem to happen.  This time we were determined to get together - not sure if it was the "threat" that I was going away and won't be back until May, but we did it!
Everyone had different projects to work on - sets of cards, Valentine's Cards, a gift favour for a birthday party.  I did some work on a digital album I am creating using My Digital Studio.
I mentioned a card that I had created for my husband's birthday using the Triple Layer technique. I was sure I had shared it, but of course, couldn't find it on my blog.  I thought I'd share it today.
I love how this card turned out.  The layers are stamped together - I used "The Open Sea" stamp set.  Once I had mounted the individual layers on Early Espresso card stock, I ran them through the Big Shot using the Lattice Embossing Folder and then distressed the edges.
My husband loved the card - in fact when I asked to have it back as a sample, he complained and want to keep it! That's always a good sign.

Thanks for stopping by...Happy stamping!
